HOH Tuesday Workout (9.1.26)

Happy Monday, team!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Please
plan to meet in the LMS parking lot tomorrow, ready to get things started at 5:45pm!

In honor of Vicky running Sackets Harbor
Half (and most of us marathoners using it as a training run) on Sunday, this
week’s workout will be our newly formatted taper workout, which you can find
below along with a screenshot of how I programmed it into Garmin Connect.

HOH Tuesday Taper
Workout (9.1.26):

Warmup: at least 10 min Easy Effort
w/dynamic exercises

6 times:

4 min Moderate Effort

1 min Race Pace

Cooldown: at least 10 min Easy Effort

Please note that instead of running
strides, we are essentially running for 30 minutes
at a moderate effort
with a hard, race pace
push every fifth minute
. As always, our
workouts are based on effort, not numerical pacing
.
Your effort will be different from your running buddy’s and can fluctuate from
run to run, so stop comparing your run not just to someone else’s, but also to
your previous runs. Please do your best to run your efforts appropriately, with
as little walking as possible…. Especially
if you are not specifically tapering for Sunday’s race or if you are training
for a marathon.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Saturday (9/5):
Due to the number of us running Sackets on
Sunday, there is no group run scheduled this week!

Tuesday (9/8):
Meet at LMS at 5:45 for speedwork!

Please make sure you show up hydrated,
fueled, and ready to put the work in!

Run Safe. Run Smart. Run Strong.
