HOH Tuesday Workout (4.28.26)

Happy
Monday, team!

Here’s hoping you had a great weekend! Congratulations to
Vicky, Cindy, and Matt who ran the Step Up 4 Kids 5k with
me yesterday
. It turned out to be an amazing day to run, especially a
race for such a great cause!

We will be running a taper workout
tomorrow ahead of Sunday’s Mountain Goat Race. Plan to meet in the LMS parking lot ready to get started at 5:45pm. Although it might be breezy, it appears we
may have lovely weather for the workout. Leave your excuses at home and show up
hydrated, fueled, and ready to put the work in.

You can find tomorrow’s newly
formatted taper workout below along with a screenshot of how I programmed the
workout in Garmin Connect.

Tuesday Taper Workout (4.28.26):

Warmup: at least 10 min Easy Effort
w/dynamic exercises

6 times:

4 min Moderate Effort

1 min Race Pace

Cooldown: at least 10 min Easy Effort

Please note that instead of running
strides, we are essentially running for 30 minutes at a moderate effort with a
hard, race pace push every fifth minute. As always, our workouts are based on effort, not
numerical pacing
. Your effort will be different from your running buddy’s and can fluctuate
from run to run, so stop comparing your run not just to someone else’s, but also
to your previous runs. Please do your best to run your efforts appropriately,
with as little walking as possible…. Especially if you are not specifically
tapering for Sunday’s race.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Saturday (5/2): Location TBA at 8:30am for our training runs. Those running
Goat will have a 30 min easy shakeout, while those maintaining base will have 3-5
miles

Sunday (5/3):
The Mountain Goat Run (race #3 of the Syrathon
Series*)

Tuesday (5/5):
Meet at LMS at 5:45pm for our workout

Saturday (5/9): NO OFFICIAL GROUP LTR (I have to work Convocation).

Hydrate and I cannot wait to see you
all tomorrow!

Yours for miles of smiles,

Coach Kristen
