Tuesday Workout (11.11.25)

Happy
Monday!

I hope you all had a nice weekend. Congratulations
to Vicky
for running the Clear Path for Veterans 5k Trail Run,
yesterday! Thankfully, the weather held out for you!!

We will be meeting at the LMS Complex parking lot (off of Hickory St.) tomorrow at 5:45pm. You can find
the parking lot HERE.

Although we will spend some time in the parking lot, we will also venture
out into the village for part of our run, so please
wear your lights and reflectivity
. I think the snow will have
passed, but it will be chilly with some potential wind, so dress accordingly-
hats/ear warmers, mittens, buffs will help keep you warm.

With no big races to train for and everyone in a
recovery/maintenance period, I think it’s a good time to freshen up on some
basic form techniques. So, as I had mentioned last week, before starting our
run tomorrow, we’re going to first spend some time focusing on drills &
skills. Having good running form is the foundation to running efficiently and
injury free… and we just don’t spend enough time focusing on it. You wouldn’t
live in a house without a solid foundation, so why would you run without a
solid foundation?

LOOKING
AHEAD:

Saturday
(11/15):

By request: we will
meet at the Great
Bear Recreational Trails
for
a hike.

Yes, we are a
running group but including a variety of movements in your repertoire such as
hiking, cycling, or swimming is very beneficial to your running. These
alternate activities not only help your body recover from the stress it endures
from running; they also engage the muscles in your legs, core, and upper body
differently and with lower impact. Hiking specifically improves your balance
while strengthening your stabilizing muscles. These activities also help enhance
aerobic capacity, all of which makes you a stronger runner by building your
endurance and speed.

Tuesday
(11/18):
Meet in the
LMS complex parking lot (off Hickory St.) at
5:45pm.

Even though
the temperatures have dropped you are still sweating while exercising
and losing fluids your body needs while doing so. To help your body maintain
its hydration, make sure you are drinking water/taking in electrolytes today
and tomorrow during the day.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at the LMS Complex in your lights
and reflective gear
at 5:45pm!

Hydrate, fuel, and take a moment to thank
a Veteran
!
