Happy First Day of Mat & Mountain Goat Weekend!
GOOD
LUCK TO ALL OUR HOH’ERS RUNNING MOUNTAIN GOAT THIS WEEKEND!! Whether you’re running the full 10-miles or the 5-mile relay, trust
your training and your ability to kick ass, and enjoy every hilly step!!
Since some of us are shaking out for
Goat and others are between training cycles, we will plan for a 30ish minute
shake out run tomorrow. Plan to meet at the entrance to the Erie Canal in the parking lot located HERE
off of Manlius Center Rd, tomorrow at 9am for our run. Afterwards, some of us are
planning to go to Spill the Tea for coffee before picking up our race bibs.
FOR
THOSE OF YOU RUNNING MOUNTAIN GOAT:
Let’s plan to meet on the Clinton Street side of the Square near
the port-a-potty bank and relay bus line by 8:30 for a team photo (Yes, you should be in your HOH team shirt!!) If
you’re coming to cheer us on, please feel free to join us for the photo. I would also like to get a post-race
team photo with our medals, please 😊
You should be prioritizing rest, fueling your body, and hydration today and
tomorrow.
REST: Your body rebuilds and restores its muscles during resting periods,
so making sure you get enough rest and sleep during the next 36-48 hours ahead
of your race is key.
NUTRITION: Ideally you should aim for roughly 65% of your daily caloric
intake to come from carbs today and tomorrow. Instead of having one big,
carb-heavy meal tomorrow evening, try slightly increasing the amount of carbs
you’re consuming by spreading them out over multiple meals through the next day
and a half.
HYDRATE: Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and consider take in in
some additional electrolytes. A good way to do this is to add Nuun (or other electrolyte
supplements) in your water. You can also drink Gatorade, just be cautious of
the amount of sugar you take in.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Sunday
(5/3): The Mountain Goat Run (race #3 of the Syrathon Series*)
Tuesday
(5/5): Meet at LMS at 5:45pm for our Cinco de Mile Celebration!!
Saturday
(5/9): NO OFFICIAL GROUP LTR (I have to work Convocation).
Do the things, team- hydrate and fuel your
body! I cannot wait to see you tomorrow at 9am at the Erie Canal and/or Sunday morning!
Have a GOATiful day!
